The smell of incense drew me in. The colors, the lamps and the atmosphere made me stay. I knew I was in for a great meal when I realized that by fate I got to Ali Baba, a Turkish, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant in Condado.
I fell in love with Turkish food from the first moment I had it in a kebab shop in England. This was always my go-to meal on Friday nights when I didn’t feel like cooking. I had been longing this moment for years now, to eat again my favorite dish, the Lamb Shish Kebab.
The food was amazing and with substantial portions.
The meat had the perfect amount of seasoning and the luscious rice was perfectly cooked. On the side you could find a bit of some savory relish and the best Turkish style potato saIad… I wished that they were served as ‘all you can eat’.
I also tried the Lavash bread with toasted sesame seeds, baked to order, and a cup of Turkish apple tea. Both were amazing and with complimenting decoration, the dinning experience here was unique.
PS. The lamb Döner kebab and the Döner gyro were excellent too!
