Uorale, let’s eat!

It was little past lunch time (not really, make it 3pm), I was hungry and I remembered all the posts on Facebook that had been haunting me on my hungriest hours. So I went.

I stopped to eat at Uorale Taquería Mexicana; A Food Truck tucked away in a parking lot, in the Jesús T. Piñero Ave. I had to find out for myself if I was missing something or not.

When I got there, I saw the menu board and the cook was nice enough to explain the varieties of meats. The selection went from ‘Criollo’ Chicken, Beef, Pork ‘al Pastor’ to ‘Nopales’ (a cactus commonly known as “Prickly Pear”). They had a great selection; the few I can remember, because I couldn’t take a picture of the menu, are tacos in corn or flour tortillas, burritos, quesadillas and nachos. I know they had some ‘frijoles’, guacamole and refried beans as sides, too.

The choice for me was easy. I went with the Burrito ‘al Pastor’; nice sized flour tortilla filled with ‘carne al pastor’, cheese, refried beans, onions, cilantro and pineapple chunks. It was covered with a red sauce (not spicy), cheese and more pineapple and cilantro.

It was one tasty burrito. Not at all what I was expecting, but I got a nice surprise with the flavors. It was fresh and tasted homemade. Loved it.

The place was simple and yet cozy under the tarp. A few ‘Changos’ (Mozambique birds) where around waiting for the scraps and anything that might fall on the floor (so you get a show too). Everything looked and smelled clean, it had parking and the prices were fantastic.

I can’t wait to go back and try something else!
